Book 9
Title: The Other Woman
Author: Jane Green
Pages: 439
Rating: 9/10
Review:
I found this book thoroughly engaging, right form the very first page. Straight away, I felt myself sympathising with Ellie and becoming interested in her character-I warmed up to her straightaway.
I loved all the friendships in this book- how they grew and changed, especially the dynamics between all the characters.
The character of Dan really got on my nerves at times- I felt he SHOULD have stood up to Linda more- at times I was thinking “JUST STAND UP TO HER!”. He was never on Ellie’s side- and I don’t think this issue was properly resolved. I didn’t like the character of Dan at all. Which made it hard, at times, to read the book.
At times, I thought it was a little fast paced- I would have liked to see more of Ellie’s pregnancy- and I think the ending was a bit faced paced also.
I gave it such a high rating because, despite the things I didn’t like, I really enjoyed it. The characters felt real, there were several different storylines weaved into one, several twists and turns and at some point in the book, I sympathised with every single character, because they were so well written.
This was a reread for me and I would probably read it again.
